Country of Origin Labelling Bill Passes
Country of Origin Labelling bill passes senate. This bill is intended to serve as a countermeasure against cheap, potentially harmful imported shrimp and crawfish served in restaurants. Restaurants are now required to add a label to their menus, tell customers verbally, or have a sign designating the shrimp and/or crawfish served as imported or domestic. Wild Caught American Shrimp from Doran Seafood that is high quality and environmentally and socially responsible is far superior to these potentially harmful imports. Seafood is the lifeblood of Louisiana, and harmful imported seafood is harming the reputation of Louisiana Seafood.
